Dooars is very pleasant place for travelling. It is situated on Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and
upper parts of Coach Bihar in West Bengal and also Assam. There are many streams and rivers
flowing through these fertile plains from the Bhutan’s Mountain. The major
rivers in Assam are Brahmaputra and Manas, and in West Bengal the major river
is the Teesta besides many others like the Torsha, Sankosh, Dyna, Karatowa,
Raidak, Kaljani etc.
The favourite spot is the bank of
the river. one can easily see animals during the early hours of the day or late
in the evening. One can heard Bison, deer’s, elephants , leopards voice also
watch hese. Here has spoted some other animals are rhinoceros, Sloth bear,
Chital, Indian Wild Dogs, Indian Wolf, Pygmy Hog, Giant Squirrels, Wild boar, Hispid
Hare, Sambar Deer, Barking deer, Hog deer, Gaur etc.
Tea garden also many other sanctuary
has seen there. These are Manas National Park in Assam, Gorumara
National Park, Buxa National Park, Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary, Chapramari
Wildlife Reserve in West Bengal are located in this region.
It is very easy way way to go there.
One can go from Kolkata by train or bus. Many train has departure from Howrah
or Sealdah Station.
